Calling all educators! Are you always on the lookout for real-world connections for your students? Do you want to help develop generations of informed citizens and sustainable decision makers? Do you want to grow your own understanding of what happens behind-the-scenes in the world of waste disposal?
If so, this brand-new, 2-day course may be just what you’ve been looking for!
Over the course, you will visit various facilities operated by Metro Waste Authority, including the state-of-the-art Metro Recycling Facility in Grimes, the Metro Hazardous Waste Drop-Off in Bondurant, and the Metro Park East Landfill in Mitchellville. You will also learn about local guidelines, sustainable practices we can all engage in, free educational support and resources Metro Waste Authority can provide, and more.
The course takes place on August 1-2, 2024, and is based out of the Education Center at Metro Recycling Facility in Grimes.
