This month, we honored Cayden Obermeier as our first Honorary Everyday Hero for helping residents in his Bondurant neighborhood with their recycling and garbage carts every week!
Values in Action
Cayden earned this special recognition after an employee saw how dedicated he was and nominated him.
Everyday Heroes are Metro Waste Authority employees who are nominated by their teammates for living out the agency’s values of positivity, integrity, teamwork, leadership, and innovation.
Cayden’s actions are a shining example of these values, so the honorary award was a perfect way to celebrate him and his work in the community!
Celebrating Cayden
As part of his recognition, Cayden received an Honorary Everyday Hero Award, behind-the-scenes tours of Metro Park East Landfill and Metro Recycling Facility, and a box of Metro Waste Authority swag.
During the tours, Cayden explored some of the large equipment on site, visited the working face of the landfill, and even tried out sorting on one of the recycling lines!
