You’ve likely seen the two vibrant pieces of art commissioned by our agency in the East Village – a three-story mural as well as an interactive sculpture, both located at our agency’s headquarters.
Now, we are excited to celebrate our third public art installation in the metro!
The installation, “Look Where We Are Growing Together,” is in the lobby of our new Metro Recycling Facility.
To embrace the new facility’s foundation of sustainability and community, commissioned artist Amy Putney Koenig incorporated repurposed and native materials in the mural design. She also invited local artists Michelle Mitchell Lamb, Tanya P. Lichinsky, Chris Vance, and Emily Milewsky to contribute pieces for the installation.
Just like our other art installations, this mixed-material mural and metal sculpture is a unique and engaging way to spark discussions about recycling and its impact.
Ready to visit the mural in person? We will be opening the Metro Recycling Facility for public tours this summer, so keep an eye out for more information on our website or social media pages!
